Activities
The CURE offers 3 different levels of involvement to potential Partners:
The CURE Network
Interested Partners act as participant in, and contributor to, one or more of the proposed Seminars in Phase 1 of the CURE programme. We hope to be able to cover the costs of participation in the seminars. There may also be opportunity for some participants to be paid for research work or other contributions to the programme.
The CURE Seminars
Interested Partners act as host for a Seminar in Phase 1 of the CURE programme. We are in process of seeking funds to support the organisational costs of the series of seminars. Each host would need to allocate staff time for a few months prior to the seminar, and to provide logistical support for the seminar.
The CURE Project
Interested Partners act as members of a consortium preparing a project proposal, to be submitted for funding through the INTERREG IVc programme of DG-Regio. For this we seek a number of regional authorities or major local authorities who would be ready to take a joint initiative, with the aim of developing and demonstrating good practice in the achievement of sustainable urban-rural relations through integrated regional management. Each region would host, in Phase 1 of CURE (2008-9), a multi-national seminar on a chosen theme; would develop an Action Plan for its own region to be implemented during Phase 2; and would be represented at regular project meetings.
An outline of this proposed INTERREG IVc project can be viewed in the restricted Log-in area of this website. Log-in details are provided to interested Partners through ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability).
